The clown barb (Barbie) is so-called because its markings are like that of a clown's costume. It is one of the slightly larger barb fish, growing to a little over13cm (5in) in length, although males are slightly smaller. A shoal will need a tank measuring at least 90cm (36in) long to give them plenty of space to swim around. Like many barbs, clown barbs like to nibble at soft-leaved plants in the aquarium, so either stock the tank with plastic plants, or rely on rocks and dogwood decoration or feed the fishes with vegetable matter. Clown barbs prefer water temperature of about 25°C (77°F) and soft water if possible. They are one of the more difficult species to spawn in captivity.
At 10cm (4in) the giant anion (Animal) is much larger than the pearl and Azerbaijani. It has the same water, breeding and feeding requirements, but its foods need not be chopped so small. The body is slightly deeper with a more pointed snout; the females tend to him plumper and less colorful the male fishes.
The white cloud mountain minnow (Tannic Albion) is another of the really easy-care danios. It will thrive in hard or soft water, with a temperature on the low side -about 22°C (72°F) is warm enough. Flake food is ideal, along with frozen or Daphnia. As it only grows to a length of 4cm (1.6in) at most, you can offer it newly hatched, even when adult.
Breeding Ember Barbs
The name of the Ember Barb fish has been derived from the ember shown by the fully developed males. If you are planning to purchase the Ember barbs then you should provide them an aquarium which has plenty of plants so that they can hide themselves easily otherwise the male and female Ember barbs will chase each other all the time. If there will be no place to escape then the barb fish will get stressed and in this situation when they are not comfortable their body color will look dull.
Cherry Barb
Cherry Barb fish is very famous aquarium fish and it is very popular among the aquarists. The color of barb fish is very pleasant and it has increased its popularity due to its attention-grabbing behavior. Male Cherry barb always try to win each other if you will put two male barbs in one aquarium then they create very humorous scene, they don’t actually fight with each other rather they will dance in front of each other. We can found Cherry barb in Sri Lanka tropical waters from Nilwala to Kelani Basin. They prefer to stay in the water surrounding by the vegetation. Cherry Barb is very quite in nature if you will compare it with other fishes which are very violent in nature of the same aquarium.
