Location of Cardinal Bird house:
- If at all you want to place a man made cardinal bird house in the garden, you are advised to be careful about the location of the house. The cardinals are the birds of forests so they would prefer to live in place with dense growth of vegetation. So, place the house in that part of your garden which has a maximum number of trees and shrubs.
- Do not try to place the house very close to the window pane. Though your activities inside your home will not affect the birds but the bird is territorial in nature, especially during the breeding season. If the male bird happens to see its reflection in the window pain, it can cause a lot of trouble. The bird thinking its own reflection to be another cardinal would probably head on with a deadly tiff. The fight can continue for several minutes and the bird would most likely give up after getting severely injured. So, never try to fix the cardinal bird house close to any window in order to enjoy a closer watch.
- If at all you want to watch their activities closely, using binoculars would be a good idea. You may even keep a miniature camera inside the house to study the entire process of brooding, hatching chicks and rearing. While fixing the camera, make sure that the birds are not disturbed during the time of their nesting.
